Salter and Stevens Qualify for Sandersville’s District Four Council Seat

If you live in the City of Sandersville’s District Four, you’ll have two people to consider for Sandersville City Council when you head to the polls for the May 24 Special Election.

Qualifying took place last week for the one vacant seat on Sandersville’s City Council concerning District Four.

As previously reported by WACO 100, the District Four Sandersville City Council seat became vacant with the November 2021 resignation of Jason Davis, who moved outside the city limits.

While City Councilpersons typically serve four-year terms, the individual elected to this seat will serve the remaining unexpired term.

Qualifying for the District Four Sandersville City Council seat were:

– Emory “Ben” Salter
– Tammy Wilcher Stevens

As previously reported by WACO 100, qualifying also took place last week for the Washington County Board of Commissioners and the Washington County Board of Education. Click HERE to view those qualifying results.

The deadline for voter registration or change of address for the May 24 Special Election and the General Primary election is Monday, April 25.

Advance/Early voting will begin on Monday, May 2 and continue through Friday, May 20.

Two Mandatory Saturday voting dates are scheduled for Saturday, May 7 and Saturday, May 14.

Polls will be open on Election Day, Tuesday, May 24, from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
