The family will greet friends on Thursday, March 17th from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.

Mrs. Isaac was born on January 7, 1940, in Glassport, Pennsylvania, the oldest of five siblings to Jim and Mary Burt. At the age of 5, her family moved to Hampton, Virginia, where she would graduate from the Hampton High School. Brenda had a skill for speed reading, was a perfect speller of words, and often noted any misspelled signs or words she saw. Mrs. Isacc was described by her children as one of the most devoted, courageous, determined, energetic, gutsy, and fun-loving people God created. She loved adventures, traveling, reading, bragging about her kids, grandkids and great grands, never met a stranger, even making friends with her doctors and nurses in the final days of her life.

Brenda maintained a unique and close relationship with each of her five children and “chosen son,” Zbynek, who attended a family 4th of July BBQ and became a “second son.” She would often make phone calls to each of her children, staying interested in their lives. Mrs. Issaac was an avid reader, who read thousands of books in her lifetime and 2 or 3 a day at times. Brenda was a mastermind of creative planning and had the gift for multitasking, feeding her family, dogs, cats, and chickens among other tasks. Her job history was a testimony to her fearlessness, serving as a waitress, dairy farmer, substitute teacher, secretary, seamstress, postal worker, hardware store owner, Walmart stocker, nursing home caretaker, garment factory seamstress, consignment shop owner, baker, and U-Haul truck driver.

Following her first marriage, Brenda boldly faced life at the age of 27 with 3 children, making Augusta home until she met Andy, who she married on March 15, 1974, and faced life’s joys and sorrows with for 48 years. In 1980, Mrs. Isaac became a mother and grandmother in the same day when giving birth to her final child on the same day she welcomed her first grandchild. Brenda cherished her 80th birthday when each of her children took her on an adventure. She knew how to have fun, laugh, hold compassion towards all she knew, and loved doing for others, especially young mothers and in need. Mrs. Isacc was active in the Mitchell Ladies Club, many Bridge Clubs, and as a Red Cross Volunteer. She enjoyed watching Netflix and lifting others with words of comfort on the phone or Facebook. Brenda loved shopping and was always looking for a bargain.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Denise Ryan; granddaughter, Merita Johnson; and great-grandson, Sawyer Diesel Johnson.
