Mr. Bryan Gregory Hodges, Sr., age 57, of Sandersville, unexpectedly passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at the Washington County Regional Medical Center. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on Tuesday, April 12th at 2:00 P.M. in the Kendall Heights Church of God with burial in the Zeta Cemetery of Tennille. Reverend Bobby Williford will officiate. Mr. Hodges’ grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will greet friends from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service at the Church.

Greg was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the son of the late Bernard Lamar Hodges, Sr. and the late Mary Tanner Hodges. He was raised on his family’s farm north of Tennille, where he also began his working career farming with his father. Mr. Hodges was employed as a Mechanic for Massey Ferguson Car Dealership. Greg later worked for the City of Tennille and Washington County Machine Shop. In 2011, he started work for Howard Sheppard Trucking, where he was a Heavy Equipment Shop Supervisor. Mr. Hodges possessed an ability to repair nearly anything, oftentimes improvising with any nearby tools. Greg loved to fish, especially on Lake Oconee. He cherished time spent with his grandchildren and caring for his dogs.

Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Bridges Hodges of Sandersville; children, Bryan Hodges and his wife Mary of Oconee, Lisa Sinclair and her husband James of Statesboro, Angela Thompson and her husband Franklin of Deepstep, Pamela Blue and her husband Jack of Deepstep, Tonya Fordham of Sandersville, and Jessica Hodges of Sandersville; sixteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and siblings, B. L. “Buddy” Hodges, Jr. and Bruce Hodges and his wife Tammy.
