Mrs. Teresa Waters Williford, age 61, of Tennille passed away on Wednesday, June 15th at her residence. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, June 27th at 1:00 A.M. in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Brownwood Cemetery of Sandersville. Reverend Bobby Williford and Reverend Stacy Williford will officiate. Pallbearers will be Brian Lewis, Danny Lewis, Zeb Scott, Dana Waters, Ron Waters, and Jeremy Williford. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 26th from 3:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. at the May and Smith Funeral Home.

Teresa was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the daughter of the late Franklin George Waters and the late Marie Lewis Waters. She was raised as the only daughter of six children. Following high school, Mrs. Williford began her working career as a seamstress at William Carter Company. For many years, Teresa was also employed for the Washington County Board of Education as a Bus Driver and most recently held a beloved position at the Flower Garden. She spent her childhood as a member of the Nazarene Church and attended the Kendall Heights Church of God at the time of her passing. Mrs. Williford loved to tend to her flowers while working in the yard. Teresa was described as a “one-of-a-kind person,” who will be missed by all that knew her.

Survivors include her husband, Billy Williford; children, Brad Crook of Tennille, Brittany Williford of Tennille, Dalton Williford of Tennille, Shelly Hanson and her husband Jared of South Carolina, Travis Williford of Sandersville, and Jeremy Williford and his wife Ashley of Sandersville; and brothers, Buddy Waters of Tennille, Dean Waters of Warthen, Ronnie Waters and his wife Cheryl of Warthen, and Donnie Waters of Tennille.
