Mrs. Joan McNally Smith, age 70, of Sandersville passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022, in a Macon hospital following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 14th in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel of Sandersville with burial in Zeta Cemetery of Tennille. Reverend David Walters will officiate. The family will greet friends at the May & Smith Funeral Home on Thursday from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service. Pallbearers will be Fred Crawford, Ellis Douglas, Scott Moore, Brayden Walters, and Cade Walters.

Mrs. Smith was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the daughter of the late Lloyd Carlton McNally and the late Joan Kingery McNally. She was a graduate of the Washington County High School and Georgia College & State University with a degree in Home Economics. Joan was a homemaker and a member of the Tennille United Methodist Church. Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by her husband, William Clinton Smith; sons, William Clinton Smith, Jr. and Jason McNally Smith; and niece, Dawn McNally.

Survivors include her daughter, Kathleen McKinley of Massachusetts; brother, Carl McNally of Lawrenceville; sister-in-law, Judy Bender McNally; and nieces, Carla Czentnar and Elizabeth Walters.

The family suggest that donations be made to the Tennille United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 265, Tennille, Georgia 31089.
