Calvin Wiley Yarbrough, age 85, of Davisboro passed away on Saturday March 9, 2023. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on Thursday, March 14 at 2:00 p.m. in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel of Sandersville. Joe Cheeks and Jerry Pitman will officiate. Intermittent will be held in the Davisboro City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Holden Yarbrough, Troy (T.J.) Lee Yarbrough, Jr., Greg Marsh, Clay Yarbrough, Brandon Newsome, Justin Coleman, and Cody Swan. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at May and Smith Funeral Home.
Mr. Yarbrough lived most of his life in Davisboro, the son of the late J.T. Yarbrough and the late Bernice Cowart Yarbrough. He was a graduate of Augusta Technical College and worked for the local International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers chapter as an Electrician for forty-five years. Wiley enjoyed being outdoors – golfing, fishing, hunting, and farming. Mr. Yarbrough enjoyed watching sports and following the news on CNN. He loved his dogs, and above all, cherished his family. Wiley is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Geraldine F. Yarbrough; son, Anthony Wiley Yarbrough; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Sue Yarbrough; siblings, Frankie Yarbrough, Tommy Yarbrough, Betty Kate Yarbrough Marsh, Charlie Tripp Yarbrough, and Roy Yarbrough, and brother-in-law, L.D. Funderburg.
Survivors include his sons, Calvin Boyd Yarbrough of Jackson, Troy Lee Yarbrough and wife Kristie of Davisboro, and Travis Brian Yarbrough and wife Angie of Davisboro, grandchildren, Amanda Yarbrough, Heather Yarbrough, Holly Yarbrough, Tammy Smith, Kay Holder, Rachel Michelle Yarbrough, Troy (T.J.) Lee Yarbrough, Jr., Linda Yarbrough Holata and husband Kevin of Moore Haven, Florida, and Holden Yarbrough; sisters-in-law, Faye Yarbrough of Davisboro and Betty Funderburg of Gibson; twenty great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
