Mary “Evelyn” Holt Peavy, age 98, of Sandersville, passed away Thursday, August 20, 2020. Funeral services for Evelyn Peavy will be conducted Sunday, August 23, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home of Milledgeville with Rev. Jimmy Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Baldwin Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, August 23, 2020 from 1:00 P.M. until the service hour.
A native of Wrightsville, Evelyn was born on September 26, 1921 to the late Lee Holt and the late Stella Price Holt. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Harris Peavy, Jr., and by a son, Ronald Wayne Peavy. Evelyn lived in Milledgeville most of her adult life, and had retired as a Lab Tech from McGaw Laboratories. She was a Charter member of Northside Baptist Church.
Evelyn is survived by: her son, Fred (& Vona) Peavy of Sandersville ; 5 grandchildren, Greg (& Tiffany) Peavy, Stacy (& Amanda) Peavy, Ronnie Peavy, Jay (& Cecilia) Peavy, and Christopher Godfrey ; and great grandchildren, Cole Peavy, Ty Peavy, Cameron Peavy, Carson Peavy, Logan Godfrey, Kelli Peavy, and Will Peavy.
