Sandersville Recognizes Skilled Nursing Care Week

Washington County Regional Medical Center’s Extended Care Facility is currently celebrating Skilled Nursing Care Week.

Sandersville Mayor Jimmy Andrews recently proclaimed the week of Sunday, May 13 – Saturday, May 19 as Skilled Nursing Care Week in the City of Sandersville.

“This is a week to honor both our vulnerable citizens who receive care, and the dedicated ones giving the care,” said Sandersville Mayor Andrews during the presentation on Monday, May 14.

Mayor Andrews continued by saying that the City honors and respects its elders and citizens of any age with physical or intellectual disabilities who reside in skilled nursing care centers in Sandersville.

During the presentation on Monday, May 14, a proclamation was presented by Mayor Andrews at the Extended Care Facility. In that proclamation, Mayor Andrews notes that skilled nursing care centers throughout the area have scheduled events in observance of National Skilled Nursing Care Week.

This year’s theme for Skilled Nursing Care Week is “Celebrating Life’s Stories.”

“I urge all citizens to visit a loved one, family member, or friend residing in any care setting and offer a kind word, a personal touch, and spend time participating in various activities to unite those from all walks of life in need of our continuing love and support,” said Mayor Andrews. He added, “My administration is committed to quality health care, and we take this moment to embrace the essence of the theme “Celebrating Life’s Stories.”

Mayor Andrews went on to say that citizens should join all residents, patients, caregivers, nurses, and other staff, volunteers, and visitors in celebrating this special week set aside to honor the vulnerable citizens who receive care in skilled nursing care centers as well as those dedicated to providing care.
