Mrs. Betty Jean “Bet” Johnson passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Augusta University Medical Center. Graveside funeral services were held on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. in the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens with Brother Vincent Cason officiating.
She was born on February 2, 1946 to the parentage of the late Mr. John Poole, Wadley, Georgia and the late Mrs. Dathia Braswell, Davisboro, Georgia. Mrs. Johnson was a native of Davisboro, Georgia and later resided in Sandersville, Georgia. She was a 1964 graduate of the T.J. Elder High School. Mrs. Johnson obtained her Associates Degree from Sandersville Technical College. “Bet” will be remembered by her selfless acts towards family, friends, newcomers, and planting flowers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Willie “Kendo” Johnson; sister, Mrs. Dorothy Hilson; brother, Mr. Joe Braswell; uncle, Mr. PL Braswell; aunt, Mrs. Cleo Haynes; father-in-law, Mr. Hubert Johnson; mother-in-law, Mrs. Elizabeth Johnson; and brother-in-law, Mr. Raymond Johnson, Sr.
Mrs. Johnson leaves cherished memories to her daughter, Mrs. Sophia (Robert) Dunn, Sandersville, Georgia; two sons, Mr. Jeff (Diane) Johnson, Mr. Kenneth Johnson, Sandersville, Georgia; ten grandchildren, Ms. Bridget Johnson, Mr. Kentorey Johnson, Ms. Porsha Johnson, Ms. Kiara Jordan, Mr. Jayuncee Maze, Ms. Dathia Johnson, Ms. Robneka Hodges, Ms. Nateshia Scott, Mr. Robert Dunn, Jr., and Ms. Sharlene Figuereo; four great grandchildren, Ms. Brielle Lee, Ms. Ay’lah Lewis, Mr. Jayce Blackshear, and Mr. Kazi Dunn; five sisters-in-law, Mrs. Bessie Mae Seals, Mrs. Nora Cason, Mrs. Annie Pearl Johnson, Mrs. Lila Johnson, and Ms. Pattie Hardy; brother-in-law, Mr. Ernest Johnson, Sr.; god-daughter, Ms. Sonya Minor-Herron; three god-sons, Mr. Jaren Harris, Mr. Alan Love, and Mr. Mike Manning; and a host of other relatives and friends.
