
Mr. Arthur Willie Cummings, Sr., formerly of Sandersville, Georgia, passed away in Soperton on Saturday, March 20, 2021. Graveside funeral services were held on Friday, March 26, 2021 at 12:00 P.M. at the Mount Olive Baptist Church in Warthen with Elder Mack Jackson officiating.
Mr. Arthur Willie Cummings, Sr. was born on May 16, 1952 to the parentage of the late Mr. Charlie B. Cummings, Sr. and the late Mrs. Sara Lizzie Fields Cummings. He attended the public schools of Washington County, where he displayed athletic abilities. He continued his sports enthusiasm and elite dedication, as an avid WACO Golden Hawks fan. Arthur joined the United States Army in 1973 and served the country with commitment until his retirement in 2012. He worked as a tire technician at Walker Tire Service. Upon retirement, Mr. Cummings embarked upon a new journey in life with the Christian Family Center, where he faithfully administered his talents and services to those around him. He was a devoted father, brother, grandfather, and friend. Arthur never met a stranger, even those whom he met for the first time. He was preceded in death by a brother, Mr. Charlie B. Cummings, Jr. and granddaughter, Ms. Jimekeyana Cummings.
Mr. Cummings leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Mrs. Virginia Cummings, Macon; two daughters, Mrs. Toshia Cummings Swint, Macon and Mrs. Crystal (Byron) Cummings-Rolle, Sandersville; two sons, Mr. Arthur Willie Cummings, Jr., Macon and Mr. Keith (Tameka) Walker, Wrens; stepson, Mr. Demeckers (Falicia) Tallington, Roselle Park, New Jersey; four sisters, Mrs. Bessie Miles, Warthen, Mrs. Jacquelyn (Thomas) Reddick, Covington, Mrs. Valarie (Pastor Mack) Jackson, Sandersville, and Mrs. Mary Ann (Reginald) Massey, Sandersville; adopted sister, Mrs. Angela (Rudolph) Lane, Tennille; two aunts, Ms. Lugene Sanford, Sandersville and Mrs. Patricia (Hubert) Flournoy, Stockbridge; fifteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
