
Mr. Thomas Gilmer Bateman, Sr., age 77, of Wrightsville, died on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at the Washington County Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, February 1st in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Reverend Chad Waller will officiate.
Mr. Bateman was a native of North Carolina, the son of the late Walter Campbell Bateman and the late Mary Ruth Goodwin Bateman. He was the husband of the late Linda Kay Page Bateman. Mr. Bateman was the former owner of a theater in Swainsboro and owned Movies To Go in Wrightsville, Tennille, and Louisville. He was a former member of the Kiwanis Club of Louisville and a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, where he was a former Sunday school and choir director. Mr. Bateman was a avid Georgia Bulldog fan.
Survivors include his children, Renee Suzette Bateman Brown and her husband Casey of Woodstock, Thomas Gilman “Little Tommy” Bateman of Wrightsville, Bradley Page Bateman and his wife Kasey of Queensbury, New York, and Adam Brian Bateman and his wife Tiffany of Brookline, New Hampshire; grandchildren, Paul Brown, Katie Brown, Marin Bateman, Liam Bateman, Marshall Bateman, Lyla Bateman, Ellison Page Bateman, and Addilyn Grace Bateman.
