Leigh Jordan recently took the reins as President of the Rotary Club of Tennille at the club’s Tuesday, July 6 meeting.

“I am looking forward to this new Rotary year and bringing the club into the future,” said President Jordan. She added, “We all have God-given abilities, and I believe we will never reach our full potential in those abilities unless we use them in service to others; that’s why God gave them to us. That is how He helps others – through us.”

President Jordan’s vision for the 2021 – 2022 year emphasizes the Rotary motto: Service Above Self, as well as the annual Rotary International theme of “Serve to Change Lives.”

When accepting the role of President, Jordan acknowledged the strong foundation set by outgoing Rotary Club of Tennille President Taylor Everett, who served two-terms, and helped navigate the club through the challenges of 2020.

“I am humbled to have served in the presidential role for the historic Tennille Rotary Club. Through the continuous workings of our members, the world, both near and far, becomes a better place. I urge any community minded individual to join us for a meeting today,” said Past-President Taylor Everett during the transitional Club meeting. “It gives me great pleasure to pass along the President’s gavel to my friend, Leigh. I know she will wield it well and lead Tennille Rotary into its most successful year yet.”

Leigh Jordan currently serves as Branch Manager and Market President of Queensborough National Bank in Sandersville; she has worked with Queensborough National Bank for 15 years. While working at Queensborough, Jordan has created a financial literacy curriculum for youth that is used throughout the Queensborough Branches, and created a Queensborough Youth Advisory Board for Washington County.

Committed to service in the community, Jordan is on the Board of the Washington County Communities in Schools and the Alliance for Literacy of Washington County; she also serves on the Washington County NB&PW HeadStart Policy Council.

She previously served on the Washington County Relay for Life Committee, the Tennille Downtown Development Authority, and was a site leader for the Oconee Outreach Opportunity.

Leigh Jordan was inducted into the Rotary Club of Tennille on February 3, 2015 by the Club’s Membership Chair, the late Benny Avant. Jordan was sponsored by Tennille Rotarian Mike McDonald. Since joining the Rotary Club of Tennille, Jordan has served as the club’s Secretary.

Leigh Jordan is married to Shawn Jordan; they have two children: Drew and Darien.

The Rotary Club of Tennille meets on Tuesdays at 1 p.m. at the Tennille Woman’s Clubhouse on Smith Street in Tennille.
