L.M. Pierce Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Charlie H. Dixon of Sandersville, Georgia on Sunday, November 14, 2021, at University Hospital in Augusta.

Graveside funeral arrangements will be held on Sunday, November 21 at 1:00 P.M. in the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens on Highway 24 East in Sandersville. Visitation will be held at the L.M. Pierce Funeral Home on Saturday, November 20 from 10:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. The family will receive friends at 219 & 220 Elizabeth Street in Sandersville.

Centers for Disease Control guidelines for the prevention of the spread of COVID-19, including the wearing of face masks and practicing of social distancing will be required.

Mrs. Dixon was born October 27, 1951 in Sandersville, Georgia. She was a 1970 graduate of the T.J. Elder High School. Charlie, affectionately known as “Cha,” was joined into holy matrimony with Mr. James Dixon, Sr. on April 1, 1994. She was a member of the Mt. Zion AME Church. Mrs. Dixon was preceded in death by her parents, James and Dorothy “Bay” Hilson.

Mrs. Dixon leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of 27 years, James Dixon Sr.; step-children, James Dixon Jr., Ashley Dixon, and Colby Dixon; sisters, Bernice Easterling and Tammy Hilson; brother, L.M. (Vivian) Pierce, Jr.; nieces, Amory “Shay” Evans, Tiara Johnson, India Jackson, Michelle Hilson (Rita), and Terricka Wilcher; nephew, Anthony Hilson; devoted great-niece, Shabreka (David) Evans; aunts, Rita Braswell, Vatie (Charles) Latimore, Carolyn (Gregory) Knight, Wynonia Melson, and Darlener Hilson; god-daughter, Jaquanna Brookins; god-sister, Barbara Cumming; extended Mack family; and a host of devoted cousins, other relatives, and friends.
