Mr. Jessie Reynolds, affectionately known as “Bro,” passed away on Saturday, December 25, 2021, at the Washington County Regional Medical Center. Graveside funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. in the Piney Mount Baptist Church of Warthen with Reverend Roy Grissom officiating.

Jessie was born on March 2, 1944, in Washington County to the parentage of the late Mr. Isaiah Reynolds, Sr. and the late Mrs. Robbie Mae Harris Reynolds. Mr. Reynolds was a 1962 graduate of T.J. Elder High School, where he was a drummer in the marching band. He was a participant in the Washington County Civil Rights Movement of the 1960’s. Jessie enjoyed conversing about civil, current, and political events. He loved spending time with family and friends. At an early age, he joined the Piney Mount Baptist Church. In his younger years, Jessie was a well-known barber in the Sandersville area, working at Hook’s Barbershop to enhance his skills. Mr. Reynolds was joined in holy matrimony to the late Ms. Ozie May Fraley of Sandersville. Their union was blessed with one son. Jessie was preceded in death by his wife; brother, Mr. P.Q. (Q.P) Reynolds; and a niece, Mrs. Jackie R. Thomas.

Mr. Reynolds leaves cherished memories to his son, Mr. Stacy Reynolds, Detroit, Michigan; granddaughter, Ms. Sharina Shay Reynolds, Detroit, Michigan; two great-grandchildren, Mr. Sekani Muhammad and Ms. Sekai Muhammad, Detroit, Michigan; two sisters, Ms. Leona Ross and Ms. Sadie Lane, Sandersville; brother, Mr. Isaiah Reynolds, Jr., Douglasville; three nieces, Mrs. Belinda Reynolds (Charlie) Poole, Milledgeville, Ms. Kimberly Reynolds, Woodstock, and Ms. Tina Burke, Macon; two nephews, Mr. Kenneth Reynolds, Atlanta and Pastor Ron Jackson, Sandersville; a dedicated care provider and friend, Mr. Jack Morris; and a host of other relatives and friends.
