One sibling has been arrested and another is sought in connection to the recent shooting in Sandersville.

A pair of brothers, Ryan Rozier and Brian “B.J.” Rozier, are wanted for their suspected role in the May 29 shooting at the Larry Mitchell Ball Park on Suburban Drive.

Ryan Rozier, age 22, of East Dublin is currently in custody. He is being held by authorities on possession of a firearm by a first offender probationer and felony probation violation.

Authorities are searching for Brian “B.J.” Rozier, age 24, of East Dublin. He is wanted on malice murder charges in last month’s double homicide. Brian Rozier is described as a 5’10”, 160-pound black male, and is to be considered armed and dangerous.

Individuals with details on his whereabouts should contact the Washington County Sheriff’s Office at 478-552-0911 or the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Eastman Office at 478-374-6988 with their anonymous tips. A reward in the amount of $2,000 is available for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Rozier.

“The Washington County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Region 12 Office have been actively and aggressively following leads and tips in reference to the Memorial Day weekend shooting incident at the Larry Mitchell Ball Park that claimed the lives of two individuals,” said Washington County Sheriff Joel Cochran. “Warrants have been issued in connection to the shooting.”

As previously reported by WACO 100, the lives of 30-year-old Christopher “Scooter” Dunn of Wrightsville and 17-year-old Williams Mykell Lowery of Louisville were taken in the recent shooting.

The incident occurred during an 80’s decade vs. 90’s decade “Freaknik” event that held host to over 1,000 people.

In the aftermath of the shooting, concerned citizens and neighbors of the Larry Mitchell Ball Park voiced their concerns to Washington County Commissioners during their June meeting.

The Commissioners have since filed a lawsuit against the private park in an effort to declare the site as a public nuisance and permanently close the venue. A temporary restraining order has been issued from the Washington County Superior Court and a July 7 hearing will be held to determine if the order will continue.
