Georgia DOT Hosting Virtual Job Fair for Tennille Location on Thursday, September 8

The Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) is partnering with Indeed.com to host a Virtual Job Fair for Highway Maintenance Technicians at their Tennille location.

Applicants seeking a career in public service should select a specific 30 minute interview time slot upon registration at indeedhi.re/3ASkd2i.

Virtual interviews will be held on Thursday, September 8, from 8:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M.

Maintenance team members play an integral role in keeping the state of Georgia’s roadsides beautiful and safe for drivers. Individuals can make a visible difference right now in vegetation management, right-of-way maintenance, and by removing debris from travel lanes.

Candidates must be at least 18 years of age, possess a high school diploma or GED, and have a valid driver’s license. If selected, jobs will be offered following the interview.

Highway Maintenance Technician job duties include:

~ Cleaning and clearing culverts
~ Mowing or clearing brush from roadsides
~ Patching broken or eroded pavement
~ Assisting in storm cleanup efforts

Job benefits for the position are as followed:

~ $31,200 a year
~ Free CDL training
~ 40-hour work week (unless emergency operations are needed)
~ Health insurance benefit eligibility upon hire
~ 12 paid holidays
