Mrs. Judy Brooks Hutcheson, age 64, of Avant Cemetery Road in Tennille passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 in Macon following a brief illness. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, February 16 at 4:00 P.M. in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel of Sandersville. The family will receive friends on Friday from 3:00 P.M. to the hour of the service in the May and Smith Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hutcheson was born and reared in Milledgeville, the daughter of the late Cicero Washington Brooks and the late Margaret Vashti Wilkins Brooks. She began her working career in Washington County as a Seamstress for Royal Manufacturing and the William Carter Company before later employment at Penny’s Title Pawn. For most of her life, Judy served as a homemaker, caring for her beloved family. Mrs. Hutcheson enjoyed searching for arrowheads and other Native American artifacts. She possessed a “green thumb” for growing plants and flowers, spending much time at her tiny home in what she called “Brooksville.” Judy most cherished her time with family, especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Hutcheson is preceded in death by her brother, Dean Brooks.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas Aaron “Tom” Hutcheson, Jr.; sons, Thomas A. Hutcheson III and wife Jackie of Milledgeville and Ethan Wayne Hutcheson and wife Taylor of Tennille; grandchildren, Nevaeh Lynn Hutcheson and Ethan Jace Hutcheson; siblings, Annette Bacon and husband Curt of Augusta, Gail Roberson and husband James of Milledgeville, Janice White of Milledgeville, Penny Brantley and husband Lee of Milledgeville, Jean Babb and husband Curtis of Milledgeville, and Wayne Brooks of Milledgeville; and her pet dog, Aggie.
