STEWART WINSTON MERRELL, SR.

Mr. Stewart W. Merrell, Sr., age 78, of Tennille entered eternal rest on Monday, July 26, 2022, at Memorial Health of Savannah. Graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 30, at 11:00 A.M. in the Smith Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Minister Shanona Merrell Settles will officiate. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 29, from 12:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. in the L.M. Pierce Funeral Home.

Mr. Merrell was born on January 5, 1944, to the late Viola (Merrell) Kelsey and the late George Daniels. His enjoyed fishing, mechanical work, and watching television westerns and games shows. Stewart was a Mason and belonged to the Hiram 43 International Masons of Miami, Florida. Mr. Merrell was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann Merrell; brother, Henry Kelsey; sister, Sarah Joe Zeigler; son, Demetric Coleman; and grandson, RaShawn Merrell.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Anderson Fraley of Sandersville, Leslie Davis of Cochran, Stewart W. Merrell, Jr. of Dublin, Anthony Merrell and wife Shonda of Jonesboro, Shanona Settles and husband Allen of Sandersville, Stewart Antwon Merrell of Stockton, California, Iralanette Cheely and husband Justin of Harrison, Brandon Merrell of Macon, Brandy Merrell of Gordon, Bryant Merrell and wife Martha of Dublin, Brittany Merrell of Dublin, Breshonda Payne and husband Garrison of East Dublin, Branenia Merrell of Sandersville, Henry Merrell of Irwinton, Jameisha Porter of Dublin, and Shondra Porter of Cochran; sisters, Addie Green and husband Paul of Milledgeville, Delores Ricks of Paduca, Kentucky, Wayma Owens, Annetta Allen, and Vernetta Rucker; brothers, Robert Kelsey of Sandersville, Steve Kelsey and wife Gussie of Milledgeville, George Owens of Warren, Ohio, Mark Owens of Warren, Ohio, David Daniel of Warren, Ohio, and Donald Daniel of Warren, Ohio; 36 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; devoted cousins, Sammie Merrell and Adrian Davis and wife Barbara; devoted friend, Terry Coleman; and a host of other family and friends.
